  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I have been writing indexes and chronologies for bundles relating to cases that the Corporate Crime Unit is working on. I have also helped prepare a script for the Unit's bi-weekly podcast on topical news stories relating to corporate crime.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I had previously never done indexing or written chronologies, so learning about something which I have been informed is a regular task carried out at City firm's was greatly beneficial to me. I also had to find evidence which was being held in the storage cupboard which was an interesting task.

  • Pinsent Masons LLP have provided a great level of support.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • I'm doing this work experience for free. But the experience of being in a City firm, having never done work experience in one before, has been invaluable. I was offered the chance to have my travel expenses reimbursed, but I declined as I could get cheap travel due to my father's job.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • Getting involved with the podcast was a really fun opportunity on top of the work I was set.

    10/10

  • 9. Would you recommend Pinsent Masons to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • I cannot speak for every department within the firm, but the one I was in was so helpful in giving me an insight into what City Law firm is like.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Pinsent Masons?
  • The Solicitor's are all really nice people, so showing them that you are a nice friendly person as well helps. Being a 'clone' won't help you here.
