1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I assist managers with the preparation of high net worth individuals, partnerships and trusts tax returns.

2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I am always learning on the job. I can now liaise with clients explaining complex tax rules and work out their liabilities.

3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

It is a great place to work and the people I work with are fantastic. They are very encouraging and always happy to explain things in further details.

4. How valued do you feel by Evelyn Partners?

I feel I am a valued member of the team. Everyone is encouraged to be the best that they can be.

5. How well organised/structured is your programme?

My Programme is very structured with regards to exams that are taken and the order in which they are taken. However with client work it is a lot more flexible- which I enjoy.

6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?

My training provider is Kaplan. With Kaplan I can ask as many or few questions as I like. They are always contactable by email.

6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?

I have a buddy to which I ask all of my client related questions and I have a partner who I can ask any of my exam related questions.

7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?

My salary/ Package meets my costs well with allowing me to go on a few good holidays a year.

8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?

There are lots of opportunities outside of work but still within Smith & Williamson. Such as joining the netball team, taking part in the JP Morgan run, Curling, S&W Bake off challenge and many more.

It is a great firm to work for. I think the people especially are what makes it so great.

10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Evelyn Partners?

Keep an open mind and remember that there are many aspects to S&W with having our tax departments and Investment management this is what makes us so special.
