  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I have been with the company for a year and a bit, starting out as just a store apprentice, I am now an apprentice manager and have to make sure when i am on shift that everything is running smoothly and everyone knows what they're, doing including myself. depending what shift i am on i can be responsible for many different roles. Some days i could be looking after the safe and making sure my colleagues on the tills have enough change etc. Other days i could be in charge of a certain area in the store such as produce, chiller, freezer etc. It is our main responsibility to make sure everything is on sale.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I like the fact that I've been able to come into my first job as someone who may be young but not looked down upon by other employees within the company. We can have a laugh as well as get the work done to an exceeding level. It may be hard work but that makes it enjoyable and makes you feel as if something has been achieved.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Aldi?
  • At Aldi, the employees are treated extremely well. As an apprentice i came into the job thinking it would be quite daunting but no matter what role you have, each and everyone of us plays a vital part in making our individual store run smoothly and meet its targets. It is nice to have a good relationship with the area manager of the store i work at, i feel as if he would value any idea i may have.
