  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I wake up in th morning get ready and go down to the hub for breakfast. I wake up around 7am and then go the hub by 7:30. The breakfast is really nice with a full English. I then get on the bus by 7:50 and go from HMS collingwood to HMS sultan and i have to be there for 8:15. I sign in and go to my lesson

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • It is amazing to know i have learnt so many skills which have enhanced my life and i plan to implement them throughout my life. Network rail has given me he vision to excel in life. Samuel clemenets has paid a big part in my career as he has shown me the way to success within the railway industry. My old skills were of small continution but still played a big part

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • It is a very good programme overall because i like it both academically and in my own time. [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] has given me a very big helping hand on the programme and has made me realise the amount of joy there is and will be in the future at network rail. Everyday i have a smile on my face as i enjoy the course so much

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Network Rail?
  • I feel very valued that out of 10000 applications i was 1 of the 200 that got selected. [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] has given me a sense of belonging here at betwork rail as he has been a outstanding colleague as well as goalkeeper and has made me realise how much network rail are willing to provide for us. I cant show enough gratitude to them as i ought to thank them

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • It is a scheme which entails each and every person to succeed throughout there time here at hms sultan. There is a mix of both academic as well as hands on experience which gives a good mix and balance on engineering. It is very organised and a proper system is in place to ensure that we all succedd here at network rail

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • I receive so much support from my trainer because i once gave my work in 6 weeks late due to unforseen circumstances and they still helped me thrive. If it wasnt for them I wudnt be here today but they always encouraged me to go the extra mile and acheive success to my maximum.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive a lot of support from my employer every day. I have 1 to 1 meetings with my provider in which we discuss my performance that is on going and we look to improve in ny progress and see how we can acheive this goal by setting targets. I also get to address any concerns i have to my employer and they try with all efforts to help me with my concern

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • Onviously the money is not sufficient for me but i do manage to get by. I have a family which i havr to put food on the table for so with my megre i try to support them to the best of my ability and have a little faith. I would prefer if mark pell raised our bonuses up to a understanding level Of £5000

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • There is a whole ocean of opportunities as my course that network tail are providing is recognised all theoughout the world and i can go anywere in the world and i would get recognised for my qualifications. I can go to any company of my choice if i want to and network rail dont stop you from leaving

  • 9. Would you recommend Network Rail to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • I would but then i will be like if you dont mind the food then hop along. Through your year of sacrifice u will reep the fruits later on in life. It is a brilliant opportunity for young as well as old people to join and build there lives up through a career at network rail


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Network Rail?
  • Try as hard as you can because I personally think this is the best apprenticeship out there simply because they pay you well and look after you very well and in the future there is so much hope for you to progress. After the apprenticeship you are staright away on a wage of £28,000 per anum and you csn easily progres further
