  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am a software engineer, I am currently on training with some time spent in the office. It involves learning how to use different software and how to develop them. I have also been put onto different projects to work on in the whilst interacting with other apprentices and colleagues.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Academically I have learnt a lot during my training which is leading to a qualification and I have developed my interpersonal skills during the weeks in the office. Training can be intense, however it is challenging and fun working with other apprentices and applying it to real world situations.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy the work that I am currently doing, although it is intense at times. I live with other apprentices in accommodation whilst training which is interesting at times. It is very enjoyable networking with people in the same situation as you are with a range of different ages.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Capgemini?
  • Capgemini have put a lot of investment in my training and career already which makes you feel valued. Also constant feedback and improvements on work and interpersonal skills is very helpful. Being told what projects you will be getting involved in and having a say in what training you would like to do in the future makes you feel valued.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The induction was fun and informative, however communication was not always clear. There is effective support from tutors and managers throughout the training.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • Support from the tutor is useful, and they are willing to help. The general attitude to supporting you is great and support is easily accessible.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • The support given to apprentices at Capgemini is excellent. There is a lot of guidance if you have any problems with training, work or other things. It is a very friendly environment to be in.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • During our training our accommodation is paid for, you are also living with other apprentices. The travels costs are paid for you to go back home on weekends however only on an certain amount of occasions. Food is also covered for break, lunch and dinner and there are social occasions paid for as well.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • There are many activities to get involved in at the company, especially voluntary work. Events such as the Christmas party were very enjoyable and there has been team building activity days which are fun. The location where the training is based does not have that much to do though, with a limited range of things.

  • 9. Would you recommend Capgemini to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • You have a lot of investment put into your career and training right from the start. At first I was worried about starting however it has been enjoyable and you can communicate with anyone no matter what their position or role is. The investment in the future of the degree and career prospects is very appealing. Finally the work handed to you in challenging and you get first hand experience in projects.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Capgemini?
  • Some tips I would suggest is to try and be relaxed during the interview process and try to be precise in your answers. Also show your enthusiasm during the interview and be interactive and ask questions. Finally I would recommend doing research on the company and dress smart when going to the interview.
