  • My work experience involved me assisting various BDO members in various audit processes. For example, creating samples on excel, visiting clients onsite and reviewing audit reports.

  • I've improved my Excel and computer skills massively in addition to my research and communication skills. I've also learnt how to handle myself in a professional environment.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I've really enjoyed meeting everyone at BDO, they've been really welcoming and made the programme enjoyable. I've also enjoyed the satisfaction of understanding the tasks I've undertaken.

  • Everyone that I've worked for has been really grateful for anything I've done for them and so I've felt very valued - despite not being able to help much due to my lack of technical knowledge!

  • Although there was no specific structure to my programme, I found that that was better since I could have a say in what I did.

  • Not applicable since I'm only on a 2-week placement.

  • Not applicable since I'm only on a 2-week placement however I have been invited regardless to various lunches and drinks.

  • 9. Would you recommend BDO to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • I have felt incredibly welcomed by the whole of BDO's audit team and even all the members of the other areas whom I have met mainly at social times. Additionally, the environment is very relaxed and everyone is approachable so it's easy to ask for help!


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BDO?
  • Be yourself! It's important to be open and honest, especially if you're having trouble - everyone in the office understands your situation and so they'll all willing to help.
