1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

8/10

My work experience involved me assisting various BDO members in various audit processes. For example, creating samples on excel, visiting clients onsite and reviewing audit reports.

2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

9/10

I've improved my Excel and computer skills massively in addition to my research and communication skills. I've also learnt how to handle myself in a professional environment.

I've really enjoyed meeting everyone at BDO, they've been really welcoming and made the programme enjoyable. I've also enjoyed the satisfaction of understanding the tasks I've undertaken.

4. How valued do you feel by BDO?

8/10

Everyone that I've worked for has been really grateful for anything I've done for them and so I've felt very valued - despite not being able to help much due to my lack of technical knowledge!

5. How well organised/structured is your programme?

10/10

Although there was no specific structure to my programme, I found that that was better since I could have a say in what I did.

6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?

10/10

I received unlimited support from not only my counselling manager, but my whole team!

8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?

9/10

Not applicable since I'm only on a 2-week placement however I have been invited regardless to various lunches and drinks.

9a. Would you recommend BDO to a friend? *

Yes

9b. Why? *

I have felt incredibly welcomed by the whole of BDO's audit team and even all the members of the other areas whom I have met mainly at social times. Additionally, the environment is very relaxed and everyone is approachable so it's easy to ask for help!

10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BDO? *

Be yourself! It's important to be open and honest, especially if you're having trouble - everyone in the office understands your situation and so they'll all willing to help.
