  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • As a software engineer, I am tasked with the development and testing of software solutions. As well as working with numerous development languages, I must also work efficiently within a team, and on my own when required.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Upon beginning this apprenticeship, I had little to no understanding of coding and software development, and did not have any qualifications relating to IT; a keen interest in exploring this area spurred me into applying for the apprenticeship. Since beginning the apprenticeship, I feel that I have now gained a basic understanding, and that I am constantly progressing within this field. I am now on project, and find that working with these languages in a real world scenario provides much more self-development opportunities. I also feel comfortable working in this kind of environment already.
