We are recruiting for an incredibly exciting Business Analyst Apprentice within our Compliance Transformation team which, for the right candidates, is a fast track pathway to a long and varied career within both the Compliance and Change/Project Management spaces. This is an Apprenticeship opportunity which will see the successful candidates join on an 18-month Level 3 Apprenticeship programme, all fully funded by HSBC.

This is where Compliance comes in. Compliance is a global function that brings together all aspects of regulatory and financial crime compliance. Acting as risk stewards, and supported by a range of specialist teams, we work together with the business and leverage advanced technology to help HSBC navigate a complex regulatory landscape and embed a sustainable approach to compliance risk management that supports safe growth. Compliance aspires to continuously raise the bar and set leading standards across the industry to help safeguard its customers and the communities within which it operates.

This permanent, entry level role will give you exposure to a wide variety of different teams within Compliance, designed to build your general understanding of the function. This role will work within the Compliance Transformation team, supporting project teams to design, plan, lead and manage large scale change programmes globally, working with business stakeholders, regional teams across the globe and technology delivery partners.

This will give you the opportunity to get hands on experience of supporting change and managing projects early on, initially looking to ensure we are living and breathing the values which are central to us as an organisation. You will be supported throughout your entire journey, with a mixture of classroom learning, independent study and on the job training designed to build your foundations for a successful career within the HSBC group.

As this is an entry level role, we do not ask applicants to possess any prior competencies required for the role, only behaviours and a passion to learn. The ideal applicant for this role would possess the following traits and/or behaviours (alongside eligibility criteria):

  • Strong inter-personal and communication skills (both written and verbal), including the ability to translate complex terms or processes into simple, easily digestible formats

  • 96 UCAS points at A-level or equivalent and a Minimum 5 GCSEs at Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent) including English and Mathematics. As per the Government Apprenticeship guidelines, Apprentices need to have been a resident in the UK for the last 3 consecutive years before the start of the apprenticeship.
