Civil Engineering Shrewsbury Local Government, Drainage - Degree Apprenticeship

As a civil engineering apprentice in our Local Government, Drainage team, based in Shrewsbury you will assist in the development of designs and production of drawings through different phases of design, preparation of specifications and reports. You will be trained in the use of software engineering tools such as AutoCad to ensure our team have a full set of design skills. Where practical, you’ll get the opportunity to visit site, carry out site inspections and see the projects you're working on, coming to life.

Training to be provided

You will attend Wolverhampton University to study a Civil Engineering degree apprenticeship and gain a BEng, as well as your Incorporated Engineer status with the Institution of Civil Engineers. You will also be enrolled onto a bespoke internal development programme to support you to attain the knowledge, skills and behaviour that will help you successfully achieve your apprenticeship.

Future prospects

As this is a permanent position, after gaining your degree, WSP will continue to be committed to your learning and development throughout your career with us. You will have the opportunity to gain Chartered status with the Institution of Civil Engineers, as well as the chance to study towards a Masters degree.
