Paralegal Level 3 Apprenticeship

Our 24-month apprenticeship gives you the knowledge, experience and qualification you need to start a career as a paralegal.

Paralegals help solicitors prepare cases for trial and progress transactions. This involves creating and organising case files, contacting clients, and performing legal research.

Through our paralegal apprenticeship, you'll get hands on experience at one of the UK's most successful law firms. You’ll also learn essential skills through an academic study program.

Your exact role will depend on which team you work in – you can work in human rights, family law, personal injury, business law, and more.

You’ll earn a starting salary of £17,017 (£20,020 in London) and get a range of employee benefits too.

Who’s It For?

This apprenticeship is a fantastic opportunity for school leavers to get a head start on a legal career without going to university. It’s also suitable for anyone looking for a change of career.

If you have a law degree, you already have a higher level qualification than the one provided by this apprenticeship. You could apply for a Chartered Legal Executive Apprenticeship or a training contract with us instead – visit our Graduate Recruitment website for more information.

What Will I Study?

The academic part of the apprenticeship is delivered by Damar Training via distance learning.

Your studies will be split into three sections – Law and legal practice, legal research, and client care. You’ll be assessed on the skills and knowledge you display at work and with written exams.

See more info about what you’ll study and the work you’ll do as part of your apprenticeship on the Damar Training website.

What Qualification Will I Get?

You’ll receive a Level 3 Certificate in Law and Practice when you finish the apprenticeship. This means that you’re a fully qualified paralegal.

What Are The Entry Requirements?

You’ll need five GCSEs at grade A* to C, specifically Maths and English. You’ll also need three A Levels Grade C or above. If using the numbered GCSE grading system, you’ll need 5 GCSEs at grade 9 – 4.

What Can I Do After My Apprenticeship?

As a fully-qualified paralegal, there’ll be lots of opportunities open to you in the legal industry, but many of our apprentices choose to continue their careers with us.

You can start a successful career as a paralegal straight away in your chosen area of law. Or you could improve your qualifications with further study, such as our Chartered Legal Executive Apprenticeship.
