Carpenter Level 2 Apprenticeship
Opportunity for an enthusiastic individual looking to undertake an Apprenticeship to gain professional skills and expertise in Carpentry.
Working with qualified Carpenters this apprenticeship will lead to higher level skills.
- Work safely and be aware of key health, safety and welfare issues
- Plan and carry out their work to commercial standards of quality and speed
- Move, handle and store resources, such as materials and timber components, complying with relevant legislation & guidance
- Interpret and follow verbal and written work instructions from trade supervisors and site managers
- Select the required materials to carry out the work, such as correct timber, tools and fixings
- Access interpret and use drawings and specifications to carry out their work
The post offered will be flexible to meet the needs of the apprentice's training scheme at College. There is an element of customer service involved in the role, so good communication skills are important as well as good practical and team working skills.
Candidates will need a good basic level of maths and English to complete this complex course of study but GCSEs are not essential; each applicant will be required to complete and pass an assessment and interview with On Site Bristol before shortlisting for employer interviews.

Training to be provided
Full apprenticeship Carpentry and Joinery standard at Intermediate Level (2) plus CSCS Health & Safety Test and various in house/job essential courses. Mixture of work-based and College based learning (day release).

GCSEs or equivalents are not essential, but you will need to pass on site Bristol's assessment and interview process before being considered for interview by the employer.
The company retains many of its trained apprentices supporting further study at Higher Level but there is also the prospect of self-employment.
Things to consider
The role involves working to tight deadline maintaining and improving properties in various conditions. This is at times an outdoors activity and apprentices should be able to cope with working in all weathers in multiple locations. Apprentices will be expected to meet demanding targets and provide suitably clear written assessments.
This apprenticeship will commence September 2020 so you may be required to attend an interview or assessment at short notice.
