Level 3 Residential Customer Care Technician Apprenticeship
Do you enjoy connecting people?
Our Residential Customer Care Technicians are the smiling faces of Virgin Media, visiting customers’ homes to install and repair our ground-breaking products
This Apprenticeship Scheme welcomes both women and men to join the frontline of one of the UK’s most forward-thinking and fun-loving companies. You’ll get the chance to travel across your region, visiting customers’ homes to install or fix their products and dazzle them with your and enthusiasm.
Right now, we have several roles which are open to men and women. We are encouraging women to apply because our female workforce is less represented in this area. Here at Virgin Media, we’re deeply committed to nurturing an inclusive culture by creating a workforce that represents the diversity of our customers. Making sure we have a good gender balance, and we’re working hard to attract women to our STEM* based roles.
We welcome applications from anyone, but we’d like to see more women representing us out in the field. We’re proud to work with Everywoman to champion the advancement of women in the workplace – and we’ve been actively encouraging this through our latest campaign #LevellingtheField. So, if you’re someone with a flair for the technical, our Apprenticeship scheme is a wonderful opportunity to kickstart your career with us.
“Virgin Media is committed towards a long-term vision of achieving gender parity by 2025”
All our Apprenticeship Schemes are offered on permanent contracts. And, around 90% of apprentices stay on with us – while others will have gained transferable skills that are sought after elsewhere.
Let’s talk about what you’ll be doing…
Our Residential Customer Care Technicians connect our customers to everything that matters to them. You’ll be visiting their homes to install or repair our phone, TV and broadband products, offer advice and tips to get the most from our services, and leave them happy with our heartfelt service.
You’ll be taught how to run cables properly, measure and adjust signal levels, make and change connections, configure state-of-the-art equipment and give our customers the low down on how their services work.
How are you going to get there?
You don’t need any technical experience beyond a passion for IT, telecoms or electrics. You’ll be given supportive guidance by your scheme mentor and other teammates throughout your time with us.
Ideally, you’ll be comfortable using cutting edge technology, enjoy solving problems (especially using your hands) and have a talent for talking to people – while a full driving license and head for heights would also be useful!
We do things a little differently at Virgin Media. And to make that happen our people need to be a little different too. Our people are super sharp and switched on. They are friendly, flexible and up for the challenge of satisfying our customers – that’s the deal here!
So, what can we do for you?
During the scheme, you’ll gain all the experience, understanding and exposure you’ll need to move onwards and upwards through our company – and we’ll pay you a decent salary with amazing benefits along the way!
We’re looking for tech savvy individuals who can shine a bright light on any technical gremlins, while being a sparkling brand ambassador every time they deal with our customers.
