Level 3 Apprenticeship

1. Based upon your experience, what do you think are the unique selling points of your function? What has it been like working in your function?

Within Unilever I work in Digital Research Development (DRD) and am based in R&D in Port Sunlight. The key unique selling point is that Digital Research and Development is based across all the categories across Unilever, which has allowed me to network across the business and work with a large range of brands and departments.

Within my role I help deliver and create innovative IT solutions on a global platform. I have led my own projects and have been a part of projects which will have a real positive impact on the business and ways of work.

Working in DRD has been amazing from day one as my role allows me to engage with all parts of the business. Being a project coordinator within DRD has allowed me to develop and enhance my skills as a project manager. The skills I’ve learned have led to me being nominated for Liverpool Apprentice of the Year.

2. Application Top Tips

One of my top tips for applying to Unilever is to have a wide range of extracurricular activities, such as volunteering and The Duke of Edinburgh award programme. Having these activities shows you can demonstrate a wide range of skills, such as interpersonal and communication skills.

Another great tip is to be confident and to be yourself, doing this will let the assessor know who you really are and what you are capable of.
