  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I have recently finished my training at resource group and am now at LHR doing my next 2 years experience in different areas of the airport, I’m starting SCC nights next Monday and will be on placement until around Christmas time.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I’ve learnt new hand skills and I have learnt a lot more about the engineering involved in aircraft’s. I have completed exams on different parts of the aircraft so have gained alot of knowledge.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • It’s very enjoyable as it’s a job but also something I enjoy doing. It’s fun to have a different job everyday and have the excitement of not knowing what task I will be doing the next day.

  • It’s very well organised as we get given a set plan on everything we will be doing throughout our course

  • Our employer provides all the support we need, any problems will be solved and they are very supportive and fair.

  • The instructors were very knowledgable and knew how to answer questions. We where provided support throughout

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I know so much more about aircraft and how they function. It has assisted me a lot in performing tasks on the live aircraft

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • We did an enrichment day where we went clay shooting with our managers and some other people from LHR whilst as resource group

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • It’s an amazing company with what they provide in terms of the apprenticeship and training. Also with support through the apprentiship to our end goal


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to British Airways?
  • Be yourself as it’s not something you should fake. Be interested in what you want to do and also strive toward being your best at it
