  • System-level decomposition of vehicle-level targets to component-level targets. Day-to-day, this involves a lot of virtual simulation - calculating targets and current performance of virtual model specifications.

  • Use of several computer softwares, including fundamental work/office skills to advanced techniques, including: - Microsoft Excel - Dassault Systems Simpack - MATLAB

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Highly enjoyable, the level of support and community amongst apprentices is unmatched to other organisations. JLR is a fantastic place to work.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • University elements are well-structured including course layout and study days, however within my home team there is not a defined progression/training structure. This varies across departments, hence there is some inconsistency.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • From the Early Careers community; the support is amazing. My home team is also incredibly friendly and supportive.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Excellent support from my Degree apprentice tutor, all my lecturers are amazing and have time to support and even the head of the whole programme is always happy to have you reach out with anything you want to talk about. On a related note, Warwick also has fantastic Wellbeing resources ensuring you stay on track.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The course structure is well tailored such that your work progresses your theoretical knowledge, and vice-versa your university education progresses your professional competency quickly.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Badminton club, Hiking events, numerous miscellaneous social events on top of this (Go-karting, walks, team activities). JLR is amazing & unrivalled for this community mindset!

  • Yes

  • JLR is already an amazing place to work and getting better with each day. There are amazing and inspiring people who work here. JLR wants everyone to feel comfortable and be themselves. JLR also offers a highly competitive salary and amazing opportunities.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to JLR?
  • Be passionate! Apply to a role you really want and amaze yourself with how far you'll come. Prepare for your application little and often, and just be yourself!
