  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Looking at costs, analysing changes to scope, tendering contracts, etc.

    8/10

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes of course; before this job, I didn't know anything about my role, but now I have gained lots of necessary skills.

    9/10

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I don't enjoy work, but I do enjoy learning about new systems, the people around me make it somewhat enjoyable to be at work.

    7/10

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Quite structured, with an internal competency programme mirrored on the APC. It can feel like you are struggling to find things to do at times, but as of yet, I've barely had that issue.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • As much as I need everyone to be. So far, the people I've worked with have been understanding and able to explain complex tasks in a manageable way.

    8/10

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Not much, frankly. I don't rate LSBU highly.

    5/10

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Not at all.

    3/10

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Absolutely, if there's a sport you think you might want to play, there'll be a team for it—lots of socials and drinking...

    9/10

  • 9a. Would you recommend Turner & Townsend to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • It's a decent company, very corporate, but what company of this size isn't? I like my team; everyone I've worked with is friendly. The pay is Ok, but can't really blame them tbh, benefits are also standard 25 days annual leave + bank holidays.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Turner & Townsend?
  • Be honest and confident, don't misrepresent yourself (apart from the obvious ways)
