  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Supporting in the preparation of an application including: Planning statements, Cover Letters, Application Forms, coordinating with different project stakeholders on sending updates, using Planning Portal. Interactions internally with various team members working on projects with and externally with stakeholders. Responsibilities vary but are mainly supporting preparation for planning applications, monitoring and analysing existing applications, critically reviewing policies. Projects include residential, logistics and strategic sites.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes definitely, since starting in September i have developed my critical thinking and communication skills. While also learning how to use technical language for Planning (something i've not used before)

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy the programme as I'm exposed to lots of different tasks and projects, you're given a lot of responsibility and that's great for learning.

  • I think the organisation and structure is good, i think balancing masters and work good perhaps be greater appreciated across the team

  • I feel I am supported as and when needed from my team.

  • We are supported throughout, as i am only at the beginning hard to grasp how much will be effective

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The masters provides me with a greater understanding of planning (Planning Theory etc) and helps me feel more confident in my knowledge and what i am doing at work.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are but i definitely feel they could be broadcasted better and more could definitely be done

  • Yes

  • I think its a great company to work for as there is a variety of amazing projects to work on and a lot of exposure to the industry something i believe is invaluable experience

  • be yourself, work hard and take any up any opportunity you can to get involved
