  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • In my day to day job I am a dental nurse, I have to make sure everyday that I am assisting my dentist, making the patients feel comfortable, educate people about the care of teeth, advice oral health, information to prevent oral problems, doing my instruments and also preparing my surgery. If needed doing reception job aswell.

  • I have learnt many new skills in this job, like working under pressure, doing team work, learning better communication skills and also been able to manage time properly

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy my programme as I get to interract with all different people throughout the day, making them feel happy and comfortable at all time, I also enjoy this because I enjoy doing the chair side been able to assist the dentist, I like all extents of my job and they isn’t anything I don’t dislike

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • It is very well organised and structured, we always make sure that we run on time, making sure that we manage our time properly, we also make sure everything is set out and organised in a morning ready to start our day.

  • I have support whenever I need it, she always makes sure to check on me, make sure I’m doing things correctly and if it’s not she will always let me know a better way to do things. she is extremely caring and supportive towards everyone in the practice, making sure everyone is happy in the working environment

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I receive a lot of training support towards my qualification, I always get the help I need if I’m struggling with any course work by my college tutor and also my manger, they make sure that I’m on top of my work and have things done correctly, they also make sure that I feel happy at all times with my qualification and understand what needs doing next and how to move forward quickly but in the best way as possible.

  • My training provider always makes sure to help me in the best way as possible to get better at my role, they make sure that I’m moving forward with things quickly and the best way as possible, they always make sure I understand what I am doing while making me feel happy and comfortable about what I have achieved

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • We do activities sometimes when we aren’t busy with work, this could be after work if we all have done good our manger treats us all to go for a meal, we sometimes also do things at work for birthdays, Easter and also around Christmas time like secret Santa with dental things for each-other, we also do activities like playing games with good and bad foods to see who achieves the most points.

  • Yes

  • I recommend this company as they are very helpful, in my work place but also my college company, I always get support when needed


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to 131 Dental Care?
  • Make sure that you are going to make your time worth been on the course, make sure you are completing anything that needs doing as if all this is done you end with the best training experience and start you qualification knowing a lot of things
