  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I assist the solicitors with their cases. I do this by helping collect evidence, requesting and reviewing records, arranging appointments and conferences, meeting with our client's and attending different meetings (medical experts, settlement meetings).

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have developed and gained a range of new skills, but the best / most valuable one for me would be communication, talking to so many different people.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy my apprenticeship, I find the job fun, and I enjoy the learning aspect of the off-the-job work because I actually find it quite interesting. IM is very supportive of the apprentices which makes things even better.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I think it works well. I got the choice of one full day or two half days to have time to complete my off-the-job work, I wouldn't say it's overly structured - but that's probably a good thing.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • More than enough, we have regular reviews and coaching visits where we can go through the work we have done in that time and ask any questions we need to. We also have workshops where we are able to talk to other apprentices about their experiences and how they're finding it too.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • All the off-the-job learning we do is very helpful to the on-the-job learning. It helps you gain a much better understanding for the field you are in - especially if you have no prior experience.
