  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I work within our Learning and development team within HR. I am responsible for managing Quilters core compliance learning, performance and induction process. Along with this I work on projects where i can put my apprenticeship learning to practice. I spend some of my time on our early careers strategies too.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Both. I only started this apprenticeship in January however it is easy to complete my 6 hours off the job training as there are so many projects i can get involved in which allows me to put my learning into practice. I have mostly been developing my current skills but like i said i have only just started.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I do enjoy it. sometimes it does feel like a chore, but that's only because within my job role and working capacity I have limited time due to recent leavers in the team however once you get studying it flows and goes quickly. I am looking foreword to starting assignments.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • We have a clear structure of what to expect. At the beginning of my programme i was given a full sheet of when learning calls will happen, who with and what the topic would be. I have a workbook which i can work through, regular 121s with my LDC and my learning tasks on bud are up to date.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • plenty. my employer are supportive of my development. Where this is funded by the levy as a apprenticeship they are aware of the 6 hours off the job learning and accommodate this. due to the multiple projects happening currently there are plenty of opportunities for me to complete those 6 hours OJT.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • as i am only at the beginning of programme this is hard to answer. So far i have had support from my Learning coach as and when i need it. I have regular catch ups and when we have our weekly learning calls they are very interactive and supportive across the grid.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Again where i am early on it is hard to say but from experience of completing the previous level as an apprenticeship before i know it is a great benefit not only for how much i learn and development my own skills but also how well it is recognised as a qualification.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes. I am apart of the employee forum which gives me great exposure to different experiences and sunarios. There are also plenty of working groups looking after different priorities that i can be involved in. One for example is our new culture desired working group and another is our recognition working group.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Quilter to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Quilter are a good employer to work for. We have great benefits, good opportunities to develop and grow. We always try to allow colleagues to progress within the business, recruiting internally where possible. Our hybrid working and flexible working policy allow you to work from home and the office where applicable which is great for a nice work life balance.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Quilter?
  • be you. As a business there are so many different opportunities available, i think even if you start here on a role you might not see a future will, there is plenty of chance to move into a role better suited. The progression and development is great and accessible for all.
