  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Senior practitioner, DSL and Senco. currently based in preschool. Responsible for ensuring safety of all in the environment. The day starts with an a risk assessment of the environment, then preparing resources for educational play and preparing meal requirements for the chef. educational experiences are prepared and carried out to ensure all children have opportunities to learn new skill and reach their full potential. Roles are delegated and staff ensure they are aware of them. throughout the day checks are made to ensure surroundings and resources are safe, accessibility is clear, in case of emergencies and children are engaged. children are signed in and out as they arrive and leave with feedback given to parent carers as necessary. Each child has a daily snapshot giving full details of their days learning, any toileting needs and any messages for further resources such as clothes or toileting needs.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I am gaining more experience in using ICT, more confidence as a senior member of staff and styles of leadership which ensure the day runs smoothly. I am gaining knowledge of theorists and learning styles.

  • fully, although Onefile has posed many issues due to my lack of experience using ICT resources
