  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My apprenticeship role is a trainee dental nurse and i am training with aspirations at the moment and my course is 18 months. I do all my college work either at home or in house at work however i do prefer it this way as i feel i can ask people at work if i get stuck on my work. my role at work involves assisting the dentist at all time while the patient is in the chair, i make sure the dentist has all tools he needs to preform treatment. i will also set up for different procedures that take place in our dental practice. my role is to also update patient notes with new charting and to keep the patient calm is they feel anxious at anytime, constant reassurance is key in a dental practice as many people are scared of the dentist. i will also take part in reception as part of my role to book in patients for their next appointment and take payments. i will also answer the phone and answer any questions that may be asked over the phone.
