  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I have enjoyed thoroughly my experience in this programme as I was able to learn on the job but also study at the same time. It was great to have support from both the BPP team and my workplace to ensure I have the time to successfully complete my apprenticeship.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • It is fairly organized for the work side of things but BPP has been a bit challenged as to the structure of the programme. A lot of the programme was not relevant to my role itself, which made completing the activities quite challenging. There was also times when we were not sure when sessions were moved to another date or told very late.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I have received a lot of support from my employer, especially regarding personal reasons. They were able to adapt to my needs and they have ensured on a weekly basis to speak to me and see if anything needed to be done to support me best. My employer checks in regularly about my progress within the apprenticeship.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I had support from my training provider, she was available if I had any queries. She was fairly understanding about deadlines if there was an issue submitting an activity. I was able to go to the provider with queries about the assignments and the exam itself which was helpful to complete the apprenticeship..

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I would say it has fairly help in some regards but the activities themselves have not been relevant to my role itself. The banking certificate has helped me perform better because it has enhanced my banking knowledge. However I would say that my work on experience was the most beneficial and not the programme itself.

  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • It has been a good experience so far, I was able to learn on the job and get time as well for my apprenticeship side of things. I was also able to learn along experienced colleagues and given the time to understand my day to day responsibilities for my role alongside my apprenticeship.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Royal Bank of Scotland?
  • I would advise for people to take any opportunities to network at events to get to know the company better before applying. Looking at the website will also help understand the company's values and their purpose. This will be important in an interview to know what they are looking for and to relate your CV to the job description as much as you can.
