  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • The apprenticeship was very good and filled in a lot of gaps in my management knowledge. It was sometimes a struggle to let my employer give me enough time in my working week to complete the apprenticeship tasks but Paragon were always very understanding and really wanted me to succeed.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes, I've honed in my skills within management, time management, dealing with confrontation, under-performance. I also learnt a lot from the shared experiences of the other apprentices from differing sectors and companies.

  • I really enjoyed the apprenticeship and felt that it was able to offer me a lot of useful skills to enhance my management abilities. I am now able to manage a much larger workforce effectively and efficiently.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The course was very well structured and had clear goals and objectives which had clear, tangible benefits. The organisation was good and I was able to get a decent amount of one to one time with my tutor to work through elements I may have been struggling with or needed a bit of help with.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • The training provider has given an excellent amount of support and we were able to set up at least monthly tutorials to go over my outstanding tasks and look in detail at the work I had provided. My tutor gave me some really great tips and feedback and really helped me deal with some quite difficult situations at work.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I think that the apprenticeship gave me some great skills in management roles and they will be very transferable to future employment as I progress up to Operations Manager level and beyond. I am very glad I chose to undergo the apprenticeship and particularly that I chose the Level 5 instead of the Level 4 which is what my manager had initially suggested.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • No, absolutely nothing. WE had a once a year company wide conference in Blackpool but nothing extra-curricular.
