  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I work to draft tax returns each day making sure to hit my kpi each and every day. After this I make sure that I answer all emails that I have received in a timely manner so that each client is clear on what is needed from them before their tax return can be submitted as well as answering any queries the client may have

  • I have definitely improved in my ability to communicate effectively to people over email as well as over the phone making sure to always come across professionally. • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy the programme quite a bit as even though I am not using all of the skills all of the time I am still learning skills that will help me to progress into other areas of the business as well as progress my own personal career. I feel that my current course also gives me knowledge of the wider business not just tax.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The course is organised really well with classes each week to make sure that all of the knowledge is learned and when there is something that either myself or someone else is struggling with the tutors are there to make sure that that knowledge is gone over and consolidated so that nobody falls behind.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer is very supportive allowing me time before exams to study as well as allowing me time during the working week to make sure that I am on top of my bud work and not falling behind in that aspect. My work have also recently started a reward scheme for those that complete apprenticeships encouraging more to do an apprenticeship.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • My training provider provides a personal tutor who is always there and always willing to help wherever possible to make sure I am on the right track. The training provider also has a tutor who is the one that does each of the lessons and they are also always willing to book time in to go over some of the more complicated areas.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My qualification allows me to perform much better in my role as I am much more aware of what is happening within the wider business as I now understand much more how the accounts work and why certain things that might need doing before a tax return is completed take longer than I would have originally anticipated.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • My work always provides workplace outings where the team are able to meet up outside of work and have a good time to make sure that the whole team are good friends and nobody is feeling left out of the team. Recently we had our Christmas party with the whole company and it was really fun and nice to see as many people as possible.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Caroola Accountancy to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Caroola accountancy has given me the ability to learn whilst on the job meaning I am closer than ever to my desired career goal. The support from caroola has been nothing short of phenomenal as I am always able to speak up when I am struggling with something or if I feel like I have a bit too much on.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Caroola Accountancy?
  • Try to go in with an attitude that you are going to have a fun time at work as everyone on the team is brilliant and the whole team together are really fun to be around. I would also say to look for any chance to jump on one of the apprenticeship courses as they really are the best way to progress your career.
