  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I look after childrens needs whilst educating them inline with the eyfs and.other government guidance. Outdoor teching personal care all part of the Job role. Planning and filling in any relevant forms.for the job and children's tracking is updated with parents and professionals where needed in their journey

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have gained confidence in working with families, planning age specific activities for the children. Working in a team to safely keep children entertained and educated. I have also learnt how to run a room and gain control of the children's behaviour with different techniques and distractions if needed

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy the programme as I get to put things I have learnt into practice whilst working with the children. I also enjoy learning new things and sharing my knowledge and ideas with my colleagues and my manager I enjoy new experiences with the children like trips and visits

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • It is well organised and the way the work is set works well when u r settling into the job role. There are constant reminders of safeguarding and prevent so its make you very vigilant in how you practice your job role to the best of your ability for the children's sake

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer is very supportive offering books, time to ask question. They take on board my new ideas and allow me to develop with the children my skills and theirs. I have options to study further in regards to my careers aspirations and this builds my confidence up and let's me want to try for more

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I receive a lot of support via the bud app, text, email, phone call and whenever I ask any questions I have always been given a well explained answer in order to help me progress through my assignments and my work shadow's and any other work I have to complete

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I perform well as the knowledge I gain becomes skills within the setting and as a result I have key children can perform parents evenings with confidence and know my children well enough to have discussions with my colleagues and other professionals if needed about the children's development or any concerns

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • No but there are committee meetings which I will attend occasionally and participate in with ideas for fundraising and visits. We have staff.mretings and meals occasionally for Xmas and birthdays this is.good team building exercise and gets us time to bond with our colleagues outside of the setting

  • 9a. Would you recommend St Micheals preschool to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Family run business manager has 40 odd years of experience. Staff have children and you feel safe leaving your child there with them. Located in a lovely area. Very diverse set of families who take their children there and the sense of community is really nice and welcoming for all


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to St Micheals preschool?
  • I would say be open and honest about what you have to offer to the company. Be prepared to work with a wide variety.of people from all walks of life. Be prepared to have a really busy day but lots of fun and interaction with the children and families
