  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am Programme Manager in a corporate fitness & wellbeing facility. This involves leading a small team of Wellbeing Advisors, overseeing the club's budget, profit and loss, recruitment, ensuring all health and safety procedures are implemented and kept up to date, operations management, marketing event management, customer service. clerical duties and delivering personal training and clinical services.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt a lot about myself through self awareness. The course has also really helped me not only learn about myself, but has given me strategies and models to apply in my day to day role in both team and project management. It's also helped to develop my existing skills such as relationship management and project management.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Although I sometimes found it hard to balance my studies with my work and home life, I found the online learning platform really suited me to fit around my schedule. The online learning modules were enjoyable and interactive and the live workshops helped to bring all my learning to life.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme was organised into 6 main modules, 2 assignments and a formal presentation with professional discussion for end point assessment. It was easy to see your progress throughout the course on the online portal. The live and online workshops were brilliantly organised by the course tutors with useful resources and an interactive element in both.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • As part of the initial stages of the course, I was allocated a mentor, should I ever need additional support, and my manager was very good at checking in to ensure I was able to utilise my 20% off the job hours in order to complete tasks associated with my course.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I was allocated a tutor from Lifetime Training and had regular check-ins every few months to check my progress and to offer any additional help,Although I had several tutors throughout my apprenticeship journey due to changes in personnel, then handovers were smooth and my final tutor who took me through end point assessment ensured I had everything in place to succeed.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I feel I have developed my knowledge, skills and behaviors in several areas relevant to my day to day job role. I am now equipped with formal models and strategies to help me perform my role more effectively and with more confidence. My team has also benefited due to my new/improved skills.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes, as a health and wellbeing facility, we organise these activities on behalf of our corporate client. Activities include a programme of lunch time classes and activities to include sports clubs, charity events, such as fun runs and volunteer opportunities. We also host a number of events for mental health support, such as meditation sessions and signposting to more formal support.

  • Yes

  • Nuffield Health has a great approach to supporting employees in the workplace through ongoing training and development via their academy online portal, as well as apprenticeship opportunities in several disciplines. It ensures employees can remain healthy with a comprehensive health care provision including medical insurance, mental health support and physio.

  • If you enjoy working collaboratively, in a supportive environment, Nuffield Health could be a good choice for you.
