  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • In my position as an assistant chef at the  Hotel, I prepare food, organise the menu, uphold strict standards of hygiene, and manage the inventory. Every day, in addition to helping the top chef operate the kitchen and maintain order and control, I clean and prepare  the service areas and outside environment.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I know how to organise the kitchen and make wholesome meals, as well as how to maintain it clean at all times. Additionally, I have learned how to use knives expertly and interact with customers well. It is also important to note that I have demonstrated my ability to multitask and work effectively in high-stress situations.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • This programme offers me the chance to study. This indicates that it is a demanding exercise that demands complete focus and dedication. I have the benefit of working for a good chief chef who never stops providing me the advice I need to accomplish my job better. Making a positive difference in the team's success is also incredibly enjoyable.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • This training gives participants the chance to develop and put their own ideas into practise. As long as it is for the better, there are no restrictions on what can be tried. The programme gives you the chance to experience scenarios from real life while covering the key topics and putting them into work.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer is very important to my growth as a future chef. They have given me all the tools I need to complete my work more quickly and precisely. In turn, this has made sure that my working environment is healthy and conducive to my ability to function at my best.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I receive assistance from the training provider through the  Hotel as I work towards certification. They set up frequent coaching and training sessions where I can explore other interests and skills. Additionally, they provide associated catering courses, which are advantageous for acquiring the abilities needed to become a good chef.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My training provider is really encouraging and motivates me to try harder every day. With a strong foundation in catering education, I am fully confident in my abilities as a chef. I have done well adjusting to my new environment at work, and I am willing to learn new skills and ideas.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Other concurrent events take place at the Hotel at predetermined times. For instance, we host exhibitions where the chefs display their creations and compete for prizes. Additionally, we work with other organisations to plan events, provide talent search platforms, and provide openings for people who want to work in the hospitality sector.

  • Yes

  • The  Cliveden Hotel is a safe place with imaginative management that values their workers and complies with all laws and regulations. Because the management at the  Hotel is open to new ideas, you have the chance to explore various fields and are not constrained in your capacity to think of new ones.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Cliveden Hotel?
  • It is a fantastic chance that is worth seizing. The professional environment at the Cliveden Hotel has zero tolerance for indolence. The Hotel, is the place you would  want to be if you are open-minded and eager to learn. Be able to multitask and manage your time well under supervised conditions.
