  • My usual responsibilities include inspecting residential, commercial, and industrial plumbing systems and carrying out any necessary maintenance or repairs. This includes clearing clogged drains, fixing leaky faucets or pipes, maintaining water heaters, replacing faucets and fittings, ensuring proper gas and water pressure, and carrying out basic maintenance. When required, I also respond to emergency calls and make suggestions for enhancing the effectiveness of a certain plumbing system. I must also ensure that each project conforms with safety standards and adheres to accepted industry practises.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • My problem-solving, communication, and development skills have all increased. Along with honing my technical skills, I also learned more about the plumbing industry's regulations. My capacity for critical thought has grown, enabling me to recognise plumbing issues, fix them, and come up with better fixes. My organisational skills have also increased because I have to arrange customer visits to install or fix the issue and submit quotations for the project. Having all these skills has allowed me to do work faster and more efficiently.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • My plumbing programme is enjoyable, and I enjoy the challenges it presents. I occasionally become exhausted by the physical rigours of my job, but I relish the cerebral challenge and fulfilment of diagnosis and problem-solving. I also like knowing that I'm helping others and making a difference in their day-to-day life. I appreciate and find it rewarding to work with a variety of clientele, and I look forward to it every day.

  • I am fully aware of the dates and timetable I must follow, as well as the order of responsibility. To organise my days, I make use of a variety of programmes and resources. I can easily respond to customer requests thanks to my access to pertinent information and resources, and I am aware of the hierarchy of tasks, as well as the timetable and deadlines I must follow. They make an effort to make sure I have the time I need to complete installations or repairs by deadlines, and they provide funding when repairs or materials are required.

  • My employment provides me with a lot of support. My managers or team leaders regularly check on me and give me any guidance or advice I might need. They make an effort to provide me the space I need to complete installations and repairs in time for deadlines, and they contribute money when repairs or supplies are required.

  • I can now perform my job more effectively thanks to my training provider. My ability to identify problems and find solutions has improved because to my comprehensive knowledge of the sector. Along with better awareness of industry rules and safety requirements, it has given me stronger problem-solving and customer-service skills. My professionalism has increased as a result of having the qualification since it has given me greater credibility with clients.

  • My job allows me to take part in a wide range of extracurricular activities. Participating in professional networking events, regional industry conventions, and monthly in-house training days are a few examples. Each year, the firm recognises the achievements of all of its employees with an awards ceremony. I have access to several social and athletic groups, which is a great opportunity to meet my coworkers.
