  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • In order to help young athletes and their families develop their skills, abilities, and confidence in a variety of sports, it is my responsibility to work with them and their families. Daily tasks include developing and implementing physical and mental training plans that are specific to each person's needs and level of ability, offering advice and support to help the young athletes reach their objectives, assisting them in using proper technique and decision-making, monitoring their progress, and conducting routine evaluations. I might also be in charge of mentoring the athletes to boost their motivation, self-awareness, and general well-being while also assisting them in developing their character.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Watching the young athletes develop their self-confidence and skill in their chosen sport(s) is immensely satisfying to me. When they have mastered a technique or accomplished a goal they set for themselves, it is also tremendously fulfilling to see the grin on their faces. It is also incredibly fulfilling to be able to use the abilities and information I have gained to give the young athletes the resources they need to realise their full potential.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My programme is very well organised and highly structured. I meet with the athletes every week to review their progress, plan for upcoming sessions, and adjust our programme as needed based on each athlete’s individual needs and goals. I also create individualised training plans with each athlete that emphasise their particular strengths and areas they need to focus on for improvement. I make sure to have a clear plan for each training session and to communicate it to the athletes so that they know what to expect. Finally, I evaluate each athlete's progress at the end of each session and look for ways to optimise their training.
