  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I work at a residential surveying firm. My job role consists of auditing the work of surveyors in my firm and providing them with feedback. We also deal with a lot of post valuation queries and assist the surveyors in correcting the reports for the lenders (banks).

  • I have learnt an endless list of skills. These range from technical knowledge related to my industry as well as social skills in the work place.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy my programme as I have a healthy fixture of on the job training (university studies) as well as my experience in the work place for the remaining 4 days a week.

  • My programme is well structured as it typically remains in the same layout and timetable and ever if there is a change I am updated in enough time.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive all the support I need from my employer and team. I also have a work place mentor who is excellent and always provides me with answers to my questions.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Typically, my university are good at providing the support we need to do well in out studies. however, sometimes the work set for us can be a little unclear and the lecturers can sometimes take a while to reposed to any questions.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My learning through the university definitely has helped me with my technical knowledge towards my job as I can now understand more in-depth queries and can provide an accurate answer to those queries with a deeper understanding.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are many extra-curricular activities at my work place like marathons for charity, academy events, out teams event, etc.

  • Yes

  • Because overall SDL is a great place to work that really cares and supports all of their employees as well as paying them a healthy wage.

  • To make sure they have an interest in the career they are entering with SDL and also to show an interest by completing extra research for the interview.
