  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I currently work in the baby room and before was in preschool. When I’m preschool I worked on learning school readiness knowing phonics using sign language and helping children start to learn to take care of some of their own needs like toileting and changing themselves. As well as forest play.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • More understanding of working with all ages as well as working with children with SEND. I have been given equivalent training. I have furthered my knowledge of sign language and makaton through experience. Now I’m in the baby room I have developed more understanding of early on care and learning.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy my job and the programme along side this helps my understanding and helps me complete my role in the best way I can. I’m given the right support I need and my course leader is very helpful and understanding of any set backs I face as well as helping me get back on track

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Very well organised. I use BUD with my programme. Which is a very useful and easy way to upload work and see my progress. All things I am learning are relevant to my job role and prepare me to go further as well if I wanted to go into ther childcare industries.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer is very helpful and gives me a good work life balance. They give me the hours I need and days off which allow me to complete my studies and help my social life too. They are very understanding and always there for support and help me within my learning too.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • My training provider is very supportive. She helps me get on track when I fall behind and is very understanding of personal circumstances that may set me back a little. She always offers support and comes up with new tragedies to help when I find things difficult working with my way of learning adapting work to help me.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My park is relevant to my job role and helps me gain understanding so I can do better in my job role. All work is structured well and I yse this knowledge I’m learning on a daily basis. I find this very helpful and am excited to continue learning and eventually qualify as a level 3 practioner

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • We often have work do which help team moral and team building. It’s nice for us all to socialise outside of the work setting. We also have regular staff meetings and training which help us within our job role to gain understanding and do better in our job role

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • The management team is fair and helpful with a care towards their staff. The learning programme alongside is very helpful and relevant. All the staff are helpful when needing help to understand the work and in day to day job role. Little Conkers is a very nice place to work and learn


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Little conkers ltd?
  • When starting at little Conkers I find all the staff are helpful at getting you to know the routine. Never be afraid to ask questions and try and be confident in yourself and yeh staff will help you through your first weeks learning. When applying I would give the hours you need and the management team will caiter to this to help you
