  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I operate as a software devloper in a agile team, we have daily stand ups and i am assigned tasks that i can ask for assistance on. I am assigned stories that require programming in react js angular and java spring boot apis. we have a daily stand up call to catch up

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • yes I have learnt leadership and organisation skill due to presenting the stories i have completed along with working as part of the team i have improved my communication skills additionally. I have also improved my technical ability specifically the programming languages and understanding system architecture which is critical for the industry

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy the responsibilities i am given as it makes me feel part of the team furthermore I am always improving my self so It feels worthwhile. additionally the team is really nice and supportive of the apprentice role and seek to help however they can and provide tutoring as well

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • It could be better as there was some confusion on the length of the program from a employer side as it has lasted longer then it should have but I am progressing and should have my degree by this time next year. otherwise it is not certain there is a job at the end of it

  • I have the option to approach my employer for attending training courses to enhance my skills and receive extra training when necessary furthermore I have the assitance to work with any of the tech leads in my team to explain and talk about a aspect of the work i am doing

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I always have a Wednesday dedicated to working on my University work and should i require more time i can always ask and i am not expected to work on my days off. if i require i know i can ask my employer to attend a training course for extra training

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • so of the modules we do are not very related to the specific role mainly being the networking or business modules however there are modules such as web dev and oop that do specifically relate to our role and i feel like my performance has improved as a result of this

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • yes befoer covid i would often attend social events howver there are now fewer of these nice the amount of time in the office has reduced so less so, occasionally there are large networking events i will attend in person and am able to speak to people in the wider team

  • Yes

  • it is a good company to work for and it has so benefits to being apart of the company. furthermore there are specific days in the year that enable us to take time to improve ourselves or focus on mental heath which is very forward thinking along as the diversity in the company


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Vodafone?
  • it is important to display traits of your personality they are looking for not just the skills you have now. they are looking for people who are eager to learn and that can work very well within the team and provide the wider company with new and forward thinking ideas.
