  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role included, safeguarding, safe practice of medication, delivering a high quality of care, health and safety when preparing food, first aid, ensuring that clients felt safe in their own home and including then in their community, if this means taking them out for a walk or something to eat

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have been trained in catheters, first aid, food safety, fire safety, medication safety end of life care, team skills, and how to spot unsafe practice

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoyed my program a lot, my trainer was very understanding and flexible being understanding of the hours I was doing and helped me every step along the way and never felt like I was behind thanks to her, she was an amazing instructor.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • It was very well organised, we had a manager and assistant manager and a office taking calls whether it was from clients or their family and the managers always kept us up to date with everything and included us all in activities

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I received a lot of support from my employer, from shadowing untill myself and my employer agreed that I was ready for lone working, they answered all my questions and made me feel as if I was a part of the team from day 1

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • A lot, some days I had to cancel whether this being to covering shifts for my colleges or sick, naomi was very understanding and always worked around my availability checking in on me regularly to see how my job was going, she was very helpful to achieving my qualification

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • It has made my performance much better during care. Before I had end of life care I was very confused and often freeze at time however after having the training I understood what to do, and with medication I had many oberservations to make sure my questions were answered

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • We had meetings take place monthly, this included policy training for the month, and going over what had happened in the month as a refresher for some that may have joined recently, we went out for team building sessions also.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Town and Country Care Services to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Town and country care services is an amazing place to work. It is very rewarding and the colleges and clients are all amazing with incredible stories to tell, the management is perfect and communication is the best I've ever seen, we always could have our questions answered


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Town and Country Care Services?
  • Go for it, it is a very rewarding job and you are always improving whilst you work there. Training is provided to help you get a better understanding of the basics to all the sides of care
