  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role as a QA analyst is to test different software and updates to software. Some of my daily jobs include: test planning, carrying out test plans, performance testing and automation testing. In addition to this, i also spend alot of time working with others and documenting much of our work.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes as before this job I had very little technical experience. From my role i have learnt technical skills such as programming and coding and also what it means to be a tester and have the mindset of a tester. Also i have learnt communication skills to be able to work with my team.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I am enjoying my program and the prospect of the future learning it brings. However i have only been in my apprenticeship for a handful of months so much of my learning is still theory based and working on the foundation knowledge. I will be enjoying it more when i move to the practical things.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My program is very well organised and structure, as i know where i stand and always know what i am doing. In addition to this, i know who i can talk to regarding any issues i face and am never left in the dark about any questions i may have.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive a lot of support from my employer as they always provide me with extra time to discuss questions i may have or provide learning support. furthermore, i never find myself doing work above my level and if this was the case i have mentors in place to provide support.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • During my training with my training provider they are always mentioning any optional qualifications we may do and highlighting any information that is key for these qualifications. I know that if i needed any extra support i would be able to find it and they are more than happy to suggest extra learning.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • This qualification is very helpful as it provides not just theory around the subject and more written based work, but also practical work where i am able to gain experience in the role i will be doing in the future. This allows me to perform much better and helps me.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes, SAGE has many extra activities that are always advertised to me. these can include: foundation days where we work with charities, networking events, sports day and many other social gatherings. There is an abundance of these events and i never feel as though i could ask for more as there is so many options.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • I will and already have recommended SAGE to many of my friends. i feel as though it is a great place to work with many benefits such as flexible working and remote working. however the key reason i recommend SAGE is the great atmosphere around SAGE and how nice it is to wrok here.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Sage?
  • I would advice them to try as hard as they can to get whatever role they are applying for as SAGE is a great place to work. i would also suggest looking out for any roles that maybe dont match exactly what they are looking for as SAGE offers many opportunities to move roles once inside
