  • I work in the Global Research department which primary objective is to provide investment recommendations to institutional investors. My role in particular involves working with analysts to generate insights, performing data analysis and automation of manual processes.

  • Yes, such as: - Python - Excel - Tableau - Alteryx

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I highly enjoy the programme. It provides great exposure and experience whilst paying very competitively for the age range. However it can sometimes be a challenge to juggle work with university and other outside commitments.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The structure of the programme is good but often the communication isn't great and plans change last minute, making it even harder to manage and work around.

  • My employer, particularly my line manager and mentor, are extremely supportive of my programme and my studies

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • The university are quite supportive however the programme is largely reliant on our independence. My academic mentor, however, is always on hand to support on any concerns.

  • My financial degree helps to support my work on the role as it is central to what the department (and my team) does.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes. My department often run social events and things like 5 a side football. The apprenticeship team also host events for the apprentices specifically.

  • Yes

  • It is a great organization to work for.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to UBS?
  • Research the organisation, the industry and the department that you are going into. Be prepared to sacrifice free time and juggle various demanding responsibilities.
