  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • A pragmatic Business Accelerator Apprentice in Fujitsu D&NS who also is actively training within recruitment. Being a co-operative member of the team, I have performed a diverse range of tasks from resourcing to advertising job roles. I can manage taking care of utilisation throughout a practice referring to the different types of employees and their skills. In my role, I strive in being highly motivated and optimistic in order to get work achieved. Communicating effectively helps me build relationships with Practice Leads and Head of departments. I enjoy meeting new contacts, getting involved in new challenges and developing new practical skills.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have many skills that I have developed within the company and previous experience from other jobs elsewhere. The skills are: Resourcing Modern Workplace Recruitment Customer Service Skills Customer Relationship Management 3rd Party Management I know there are many skills that are available and different courses to get new certifications and I am willing to go above and beyond and gain new skills and qualifications

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • To a great extent. The workplace at Fujitsu is amazing, everyone is friendly and patient when it comes to work and all people are understanding. When it comes to my apprenticeship side, I feel the same my coach helps out more than I can imagine and the other apprentices are so kind.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Very structured. I have monthly coaching sessions at the end of every month with my apprenticeship coach. Every Tuesday at the start of the month I have a lesson. 20% of my Fujitsu job will be utilised into completing my apprenticeship. Every three months my line manager and apprenticeship coach will have a review.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I have a lot of support throughout my team and even people from Futjitsu who aren't in my workspace bubble. I also get a lot from my apprenticeship coach as we have each others contacts so that if I don't understand or I can't attend lesson due to holiday, I can easily notify them.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • As previously my colleagues are understanding that if I am in a lesson or studying for my Apprenticeship they will leave me be to concentrate. If there is an emergency they will contact me however only if it is important. Not only that, depending on the days I can alter my 20% Studying time.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Pretty well, since I use excel on a daily basis, my apprenticeship has shown me different types of methods and techniques about data formatting or data cleaning which will help better my weekly reports. Not only that they also help with professional discussion so that we can communicate effectively with stakeholders

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes there are many events that are happening. There are sailing days throughout July-September, two in fact! Not only that there are Pride Month parades to go and participate to in Birmingham with all travel expenses included. There are volunteering Inspero Gardening day where you help a local community entre garden.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Fujitsu to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • The workplace is so lovely, everyone is so enthusiastic and they want the bet for all employers. They like people to progress further within the company. Not only that the apprenticeship side, there are many colleagues who used to be an apprentice which helps the understanding of your role and flexibility.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Fujitsu?
  • Just be passionate about what you want to do! Whether the apprenticeship is a step foot in the door for what you want to work in or you ae just passionate about what you would like to achieve or that job role, tell them! Communication is key for joining and the commitment you'd want to have
