  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • The programme is enjoyable and I do enjoy the job. I was scared at the beginning but over time I’ve gotten used to it and now I really enjoy it. I like the fact we get two study days a month as well, as it gives us time to get the apprenticeship side of the job done.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme so far has been alright for its structure/organisation. The structure of the training is broken down well so that it’s easy to take in and learn. I also think the organisation of how we get tasks on the job itself is really good, due to this everyone knows what to do.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive a lot of support and it’s good to know if there’s anytime I’m struggling I can just reach out to my PDM she can help me out. I also think the support during the training from the trainers was good and helped to make me actually take in what was being taught to us.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • You receive quite a lot with 1-2-1’s and monthly study days. They let you know if you fall behind and help you with what needs to be done to catch up. If you ever need more time someone will give you an extra day off to catch up and may even give you an extra 1-2-1 for help.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Overall I feel if you’re someone who needs to see the theory sides of things then the qualification side of things will really help you to perform better, it also gives an insight into what you’re actually doing and different skills you can use when working on the job.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are events such as career fairs, talks and charity days you can take part in. These are mostly advertised for the apprentices. Then there are some things that are open to everyone on the One Page such as BA has talent or the BA take on Strictly Come Dancing.

  • 9a. Would you recommend British Airways to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • I would recommend it because the work and study balance has been really good. Most people who are in the terminal are really friendly and that makes it a lot easier and makes learning feel easier as you’re not stressed and can take things in. Personally I think it’s a good opportunity.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to British Airways?
  • I would tell other to go for it, be confident and not to worry about others. I would also let them know that you get so much support from being on the apprenticeship even for things such as being late or sickness.
