Body CAD Engineer Review

Body CAD Engineer Full time college for the first year other than half terms where we are in plant doing our actual jobs, which in our case is a CAD base project currently.

Developed existing skills as we are redoing NVQ Level 2 which I did 3 years ago. Also learning new ones as we are doing a FD.

My team are great as are the majority of the lecturers. I enjoy my time in plant however college seems much of a formality and we don't appear to be being treated like the adult professionals we are and instead are treated like children. I felt in my last apprenticeship with Precision Carbide Tools Ltd I had more responsibilities and felt more of an equal.

I feel valued by the company although as we don't receive much face time with members of staff other than ones we are contacted through at college, it is hard to feel part of the team.

The program is a new "Trailblazer" format and therefore is not at all organised. [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions]

The training provider is great, there are always people happy to help with any problems.

I feel there is a lot of support from my employer although it is not portrayed very well in this current college environment.

My salary just about covers my costs although this is more than I was used to at my previous position.

There are many events to get involved in, however these appear to be offered to people who have previously been to them and therefore not as easy for others to get onto.

Because they are supportive and there are many great opportunities to grow within the company.

Make sure you revise the company and it is something you are going to be committed to in the future as it is not easy.
