  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My main responsibilities focus around FP&A within our Finance function. This involves using and maintaining forecasting models to create forecasts and budgets for upcoming financial cycles. I also analyse key variance drivers and communicate with wider teams to better understand these variances.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have had the opportunity to develop a vast amount of skills during my Apprenticeship, such as leadership, relationship building and professional scepticism. I was always encouraged by colleagues to take on new projects, including leading some in order to gain further experience and develop my skills.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy my programme as I'm working within an sector that I am passionate about and find enjoyable. Along with this, I have a very supportive network of colleagues around me in a very welcoming work setting. I'm enjoying learning about new topics through my exams too.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Very well - I have a very good tutor who had guided me throughout. I always know what is required from me, and when and there is good spacing between my exams/project submissions to give me enough time to complete them before beginning my next one.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • A lot. My colleagues always support me and provide excellent feedback on projects so I know the areas to work on. Regarding my exams, my employer understands my requirements and tailors my workload accordingly so I can focus on exams when needed.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • My training provider is very good regarding the qualification. The module leaders always make sure I am aware they will always be there to support me until I pass each exam. There is a host of past paper questions to work through and the lectures are easy to follow, well planned and contain a range of good examples.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My qualification has equipped me with a range of knowledge which I am able to apply in my role to perform better. For example, key financial concepts which are used in my daily work were covered in one of my exams. Similarly, my exams covered a range of topics regarding team work and leadership which I have been able to implement.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes! There are a range of extra-curricular activities to get involved with. There a multiple employee resource groups to join which connects you with people with similar interests. In addition, there are always networking events being hosted which connect you will people around the business and they also have insightful panels which teach you about specific topics.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • The people! There are so many incredible people who you will meet here that make it such a fun place to work. Everyone is so supportive and wants you to achieve which I really value. It is also just a fun industry to work in!


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to The Walt Disney Company?
  • My advice would be, to genuine and excited! I always say how special Disney is and how likely it is that the, films, character and products have impacted so many positive memories in your life. Really show this in your applications.
