Most of my subjects are brand new information for me to take in, and a few are developing new skills such as my maths and science skills.
Most of the time i am thoroughly enjoying it, although i wish i was in plant and doing my job role more often. Also some days at college feel nearly pointless due to bad communication internally, but i acknowledge that this is unavoidable.
when i am in plant i feel like i am actually part of the team, but i feel like there could be more interaction between our JLR managers and us when we are college.
As we were the first group of apprentices on the new Trailblazer scheme, things have been shaky throughout the entire apprenticeship so far. Promises to have it sorted by next year are promising, but still a bit of pain for us. In terms of everything else, it is good.
All support from the college is great. Almost all the staff are very approachable and happy to help.
I do wish our employer had more interaction with us at college and i feel like the HR team could do more to support us aswell.
I manage to live fine, although leamington is an expensive place to live and as this apprenticeship almost needs you to have a car, it doesn't leave me much savings.
There are lots of opportunities in this work place, but as first years we aren't exposed to many of them and i hope this will improve next year.
