  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Profit and Loss Knowledge - Pre month, mid month, month end P&Ls Scheduling (Within Working time regulations and business needs) Projections (For workforce planning (for example succession planning and establishment numbers and sales projections) Operations management - Looking to improve metrics month on month vs last year. PACE portal benchmarking against wide McDonalds estate

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Attending University at Manchester Metropolitan University - Lectures, Workshops, Weekly Tasks, Providing skills that I can bring into the workplace. I enjoyed meeting people from the business - sharing experience and ideas to implement in your own stores. Staying in a new city is exciting experiencing the local restaurants and bars. I thoroughly enjoyed my time

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Very Good structure - especially during Covid. I felt the online learning was enjoyable and engaging and a good compromise to continue learning while restrictions were in place that prevented us coming to Manchester (MMU). I’m person classes were a particular favourite of mine, engaging and the lecturers were very knowledgeable

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive amble support from my employee. My coach (Line Manager) attends most skills meetings with my skills coach. I recieve scheduled time to complete my degree and can get extra time if needed. My employer is very supportive and I look forward to give them the return of investment by bringing my learns back to the restaurant.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Weekly tasks feedback I have found vital when completing assignments. The feedback is thorough. Online assignment webinars help to remove and doubts or questions follow lectures and weekly tasks. When assignments are submitted feedback is detailed and helps me improve on every assignment. I feel supported by my skills coach and MMU

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Learns in the classroom are directly applicable to the business. In some cases I approach situations in a new way because of takeaways from the course and MMU leacturer support. As I build experience as a business manager assignments stretch me intellectually. I feel because of my training provider I am becoming a more well rounded business manager.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • I am keen to network with industry professionals including lecturers. I am interest in completing a MBA or similar masters after this course and believe networking with individuals within the industry will benefit me in my future career. I enjoy running, and attending music concerts. This year I am seeing Harry styles three times.

  • Yes

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to McDonald's?
  • Dress professionally, first impressions matter. Look into the company background, this may come up at interview (Watch “the Founder” if in doubt. Maintain eye contact. It’s okay to pause and think about answers to the interviewers questions. OJE - Be polite and engage with customers. Ask them how they are. Most importantly, be yourself, McDonalds is like a family.
