  • Overseeing the L&D dept, supporting all apprentices including upskilling colleagues. Leading a team of Training Coordinators overseeing all manufacturer training. Liaising with schools and colleges bringing in new talent into the business

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Coaching skills - understanding different personalities of colleagues. Supporting the needs of others through coaching conversations. Better awareness of self and how to interact particularly using emotional intelligence when dealing with challenging situations

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I love it! I am completely immersed in the content, spend a lot of my time listening to podcasts and audio books to support my learning and understanding of coaching in the workplace.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Very well structured. Monthly classroom/workshop with others in my cohort, a monthly 1:1 with my Skills Coach and adhoc support. I have a clear view of what the month includes and what I need to do and when

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • All the support I need. I am given time in my working day to focus on my remote classes and complete any necessary coursework. The skills I am gaining and will gain will support the business and other colleagues so I am fully supported in return

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I have regular contact with my Skills Coach. She is very responsive to my queries and any help I need. She is extremely positive and any time I am unsure about an aspect of an assignment she gives me additional time to discuss and clarify

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • In my role I am working with people right across the whole group, and in all functions - the knowledge I have gained through my course has helped me gain a better understanding of how to identify personality types and preferences and adjust my approach accordingly

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • We have regular team meetings off site, which include interactive events and a social event afterwards. We also have monthly engagement evets such as dress down days, bake sales, fancy dress days and monthly prizes to be won by colleagues.
