  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Assisting the day to day runnings of a McDonalds restaurant, through leading shift and a team of employees to reach the hold and targets set. 1 day a week I also study for my university course of chartered business management

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy the programme I am in, being able to learn new skills and look at the impacts of the different course I learn at university, being able to look at this from a generalised perspective and a McDonald’s perspective too.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Very well structured. We have access to the information regarding our course before we start the next unit which allows for an idea of what is expected and what will be taught. We also have access to the tutors emails and a skills coach so there is always someone to go to

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • At work, I always have someone I am able to speak to and get advice from. My workplace does allow me the time to study, and help if I require it.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • We always have access to the tutors emails so we can reach out for the support if needed. We have skills coaches who support us and show where we are working compared to the average or where we want to be. The university provides ample support through resources like the library who supply proof readers if needed, course on essay writing and more course like that

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Being able to look at different areas in business management in a different perspective allows for a better understanding, and then being able to contextualise this and adapt it to McDonald’s creates better understanding of the certain unit

    10/10

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • We have a wide and diverse team at my restaurant, so I am always able to connect and understand new people. We have a lot of trust events within the franchise group like litter walks and an up coming 10 mile walk that involves people across the group

  • 9a. Would you recommend McDonald's to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • McDonald’s has been my only job and I am always happy working here. The team is always welcoming and we all get on well. We are listened to and pushed by our higher management team to achieve our targets. There is always someone to talk to if you need it, and I can always be myself whilst at McDonald’s

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to McDonald's?
  • If you apply, always put in 100% to your work, it will pay off in the future. Never be scared to ask for help or advice because there is always someone who will want to help you. Make friends and connect with others, as having a group of friends at work will make it fun and you will never feel like you are at work.
