  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • My programme has helped me in more ways than none. The support I receive from my team has been immense and they are open to answering any questions and want to make sure you have the best knowledge. I attend university once a week and mix with other degree apprentices both from Fujitsu and other companies too.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The course is very structured - you join with a massive co-hort who are spread nationally and internationally too and every month or so you have activities and check in calls with your co-hort to check on wellbeing and participate in activities such as customer hackathons and business awareness tasks. Managers are very understanding that you are studying on the side of the job role and always allow time to focus on studies.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive a lot of support - my manager is very understanding and acknowledges that I am studying towards a degree alongside my full time role, so always allows me to set aside some time in the day to do university work or catch up on anything I have missed out on. We have weekly mentor calls to check on knowledge gaps or find areas where I can improve.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I attend University once a week and spend my day with degree apprentices from other companies as well as my own. We attend lectures with normal full time students but seminars are separate in order to give us catered learning which is relevant to us. We do get a lot of work to do regarding university but that is to be expected and managers allow you to set aside time to do the work.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • It gives you a better view from the operational side of things and allows you to understand how teams and groups form to come together to produce an end product. A lot of the learning done at university is easily applied to real life scenarios at work and commonly summatives and formatives make you write and see the links.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • We have social values activities that we can take part in, for instance I recently volunteered at Christmas to take part in present wrapping and sorting which was an amazing opportunity. We also have the option to attend lunches at our base location which helps you to meet people close to where you are working.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Fujitsu to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Fujitsu provides and guarantees you assistance and support when needed. Their Junior Talent team is massive and you are never alone when you join. Everyone is so personable and welcoming. One of the most beneficial elements of the course I have found is LinkedIn Learning; you get a subscription to the site so you can enhance knowledge in areas where you feel you need to improve or are interested in.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Fujitsu?
  • The application process went very smoothly and Fujitsu remain in contact and keep you up to date the whole way through. My best advice would be to be yourself, as they want to know who you really are and what your personality is. Be confident in yourself and everything you say as confidence is one of the best traits. Best of luck!
