  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I work within a team responsible for creating and supplying clinical trials using Clinical Supply Chain business processes, systems, metrics and technology to meet the needs of the business, the patients and the AstraZeneca Clinical portfolio. Specifically I work within IRT which ensures accurate allocation and automated resupply of drug to sites for patients by using Interactive Web Response technology to manage subject randomisation and study medication dispensing and inventories in clinical studies.

  • There are a vast amount of extra-curricular opportunities such as employee resource groups (ERG) and sports teams such as the Aztecs whom I play netball with on a Monday night. • 9a. Would you recommend AstraZeneca to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • The opportunities for growth and development provide motivation and allow me to envision a future within AstraZeneca and the support allows you to progress and develop in depth knowledge of your speciality from industry experts. As an apprentice you are treated equally and never expected to perform 'apprentice tasks', you experience your job role as an industry specialist and develop knowledge of that standard.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to AstraZeneca?
  • Ensure that both your line manager and yourself are aware of the responsibilities and expectations placed upon you as an apprentice and that you have the time to complete any tasks required outside of your day to day role. Furthermore, also be aware that our team and network are there to support you and when undertaking your first project, independent or not, use the support available and ask questions to ensure the best possible outcome for your project. Remember that you are here to learn and are not expected to know everything immediately.
