  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role involves me to look after the children and be counted in to the room ratio for the children to staff. I am required to be patient and nurturing. I have to plan and implement activities with the children, write up observations on my key children and ensure the needs of the child are met. I am required to have a good relationship with parents and other members of staff.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes. I have learnt how to better manage my time and have also learnt a lot of work on key theorists which helps me in my day to day practice at the nursery.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy the satisfaction of watching my progress bar going up, knowing I’m that step closer to qualifying as a level 3 practitioner.

  • My programme is organised well with monthly check ins with my tutor and reviews to ensure I am where I should be.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer is always there to help me out when I need it. They maintain a good relationship with me and give me the resources that I need to carry out my assignments

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • My training provider gives me lots of support and let’s me know that they are always there if I want to message them regarding an activity that I’m struggling on. I also get monthly check ins with them.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I feel a lot more confident in my role since starting this training. I know how to carry out my job correctly and I know what to do in certain situations thanks to my monthly work shadow grids.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes, we go for meals together occasionally and have room meetings to ensure we all feel comfortable around each other and content at our work space
