  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Teaching Assistant. I work closely with SEN children and also around main stream children too. I prepare classroom worksheets and different activities as well as prepare activities that best suit SEND children to ensure they can access learning too. I enjoy working with the children and working along side teachers.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • -How to support children of all levels. -How to interact and ask the developmental questions to further knowledge. -How to deliver interventions to help those who need more support. -How to differentiate different ways of learning and the preferred styles of learning. -How to communicate with the class teachers regarding assessments/observations.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoyed my programme, I was supported the whole way through with my tutor and the LMP company. I was able to learn plenty whilst on the job and further my knowledge and understanding of why education is so important and how it can impact the future of children.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Very organised. Keeps you updated with next dates for meetings, next dates for training and sends out an email each week to remind you of timesheets, newsletters and what is new within the company. The company have a very good communication barrier between employers and employees so we never miss important matters within the company or apprenticeship details.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I received full support, wether that being through emails, phone calls or meetings. If I felt any concern my employer would contact me within a few days to discuss the concern and how we could deal with it.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I received full support, and when working towards my qualifications I felt confident with completing them as well as contacting my employers if I needed support.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I performed better during my training as I learnt new skills and adaptations to benefit the children I work with. I feel confident enough to be a well trusted member of the team.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are after school clubs I help run, such as art club and cooking club. This is where I get to meet different children around the school and the creativity of each child’s mind.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • It was a fabulous experience working with the apprenticeship programme, no issues were received when working through the company.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to LMP Group?
  • Stick with it. Feel confident to communicate any concerns. It’s amazing when you see the children boost their confidence and have a beaming smile when understanding the work you are explaining.
