  • I work in equity sales trading, which is focused on executing single stock situations, which may contain outsized market orders or illiquid stocks, these situations may provide a liquidity challenge and require various types of liquidity to be sourced. I help provide liquidity solutions for clients and manage risk.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Absolutely, I have found being on desk has improved my knowledge and technical skillset beyond what I could of imagined. I have had the opportunity to develop presentation, excel, coding skills and combining them with the knowledge i have picked up from expert professionals

  • I have very much enjoyed the programme. It has been a challenge but i have thoroughly enjoyed developing my skillset and advancing my career

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme has a decent structure with the opportunity to learn and develop new skillsets which can be applied to your role. The only thing is there has been a lack of clarity on timelines to realistically obtain a regulated status

  • UBS is very good at supporting my development and advancing my career while making sure im not crushed by my workload especially in the run up to my CFA exam

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • We receive a lot of support from the training provider to help us achieve the qualifications- from exams to the portfolio based work- they are always happy to support and provide advice

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I would say it has helped a considerable amount- especially in the period of high market volatility we are seeing this year. This has allowed me to have a greater understanding into some of the market moves.

  • there is plenty of networking opportunities and social events provided by the company and i play 7 aside football with my colleagues

  • Yes

  • I think UBS provides an amazing opportunity to learn on desk from industry professionals as well as receiving industry qualifications that are relevant and can be applied to the role.

  • Research into the company, understand the philosophy and ethos. put the time into prepare and practice interview questions.
