  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • On a day to day basis I work with multiple idfferent software's such as Tableau and excel to visualise datasets. However, a lot of the job is preporocessing and collecting the data. This is done through writing scripts in python and building AI systems to help with the process.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Throughout my time at Vodafone I have developed both soft skills in the form of presenting, writing and how to act within a business environment. I have also learnt a lot of new technical skills that I otherwise would not have had the opporunity to learn such as coding in python.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Working in Vodafone is great, when you first get started you are buddied up with someone who has been on the programme for at least a year to help you settle in. There are also a lot of contacts within the company that are always accessible to reach out to.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is strucutred very well with lectures being all delivered on one set day a month. Your employer also gives you 20% of your working time to put towards your studies and most managers are extremly flexible with this depending on requirements. The uni lecturers are also always on hand.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • The uni provides one lecture day a month to cover any uni content that needs doing. They also provide multiple Q & A sessions between that if needed and drop content in teams pages to help students prgoress in the mean time. You can also message the lecturers anytime and they will respond.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Although the qualification is related to the role we complete, most of the learning is done on the job which is why apprenticeships are so goo.d The uni work is just a normal degree and therefore is not specialised enough to help with on the job learning but that would be the same result as going to normal uni.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Vodafone to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Vodafone is a great place to work as explained in all the above answers. The support from a job perspective is amazing and the college provider is always on hand to help you achieve the best grades as possible. There are also a lot of social benefits to joining Vodafone.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Vodafone?
  • Be as honest as possbile, there's no point lying your way through as interview process: firstly because you will most likely get caught out and secondly because if you did get the job you would not be able to keep up that persona. Also ask as many questions as possible.
